Rufford Old Hall, September 2023
After looking for places to visit near Liverpool - my last attempt at driving two hours ending up in a flat tire and needing to come back home before even reaching my destination! - I decided to go visit Rufford Old Hall, barely 40 minutes away from my house.
For this visit, I decided to grab my trusty Canon AE 1 Program paired with my Canon 35 mm f2.8 and my Canon 70-210 mm f4 and a roll of Kodak Ultramax 400.
I find old Tudor Houses incredibly beautiful and it is quite lucky to be able to visit these historically charged places. This particular house was the property of the Hesketh family since the 15th century. William Shakespear might even have performed in the great hall!
Unfortunately, on this occasion, photos were not permitted inside the house (except for two specific areas which were either too crowded or not fit for photos). Nevertheless, it was a very good day enjoying a nice stroll in the vast gardens and along the canal.
The main challenge was to get photos without people in frame. As you might expect, these houses are usually quite popular for families with children, but overall, it was not that difficult to get decent photos. I was not in a rush and there was no problem for me to wait a bit until the shot was clear.
These are only low resolution scans for now, as I did not have time to get high resolution ones yet.
